A friend and I got up at the break of dawn to run a 5k at Garden of the Gods w/ literally hundreds of other people who either ran or walked for a cure to breast cancer. 75% of the profits made go to the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure foundation. It was fun to say the least, I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a runner but I managed to drag myself around the course. Never in my life would I have thought that I would be paying to run races. I will admit I was surprised by the amount of people who attended… I didn’t realize how big this event is! I wish I would have brought my camera with me or my cell phone to post pics up on flickr but I didn’t think about it until I got to the event. Ah well… If you ever get a chance to walk or run for a charity organization I would urge you to do it! The profits go to a good cause while you are doing something to improve your mind and body.
